“THE THREE QUESTIONS”: INTERVIEW WITH THE BENEFICIARY

1. What was the highlight of the project for you?

There are many activities that we support and cooperate with in the field of social protection. However, I would like to emphasize the activities implemented in policy development and social welfare system reform.

2. Why? 

The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection is taking step by step implementation actions to update and reform its sector related legal environment. Within this framework, Social Welfare Law and about twenty other accompanying laws were amended and drafted by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection. These proposed laws-related research and assessments were conducted and international best practices were also studied. Moreover, many tasks and activities were implemented with the support of the project. For instance, public discussions were organized among local welfare organizations, citizens, communities, government and non-government organizations and comments and suggestions from the discussions were reflected in the draft law documents.   

3. In your opinion, what was the result and significance of this activity?

I am pleased to say that with the support of implementing the project at our ministry, the aforementioned consulting services, trainings, public discussions and other activities have made a significant contribution to reforming the social welfare system and sector related legal environment. With the approval of these draft laws, social welfare will be directed to the most vulnerable population groups that need government assistance and will support the livelihoods of those groups. We also believe that the improved services and assistance that will support them to lead their lives independently and it will eventually have an effect on reducing poverty.
