We are enriching our practical experience in data driving decision-making process

Since the 2000s, immense technological evolutions have been emerging rapidly and it brings innovation, and progress in all areas. The digital solution and new technologies in the operation of government are also seen to be remarkable in increasing government productivity, simplification, and efficiency.

It is not easy to keep pace with technological advancements, but we try to upgrade our digital capabilities to the greatest extent.

Changes in social welfare and the livelihood of people are the final indication of policy decisions. And the changes are computable in numerical terms. Our work tasks demand us to investigate the changes in the population's livelihood in a shorter time horizon. However, the main poverty indicator that measures the standard of living is announced only once every two years, therefore we face time mismatching difficulties to evaluate the performance of policy decisions.

Under the framework of the "Strengthening Budget and Financial Stability" project, methodology to estimate monthly poverty indicators and experimental estimations are made.  This approach significantly contributed to improving the study capacity to observe how and what expected changes in people’s living conditions responded to policy adjustment.

For our department, this improvement will enhance our coordination of the study, and it will create an opportunity to produce more sound and effective policies.

Furthermore, we are confident that the project implementation will provide us with more precise targeting for poverty vulnerable populations, policy determination and performance will be improved, and the medium and long-term goals in developmental documents will become more likely reachable.
