The Fiscal Council of the Parliament is an implementing organization of Strengthening Governance in Mongolia project. Therefore, PIU organized training on project implementing procedures for management of implementing agency responsible for the component, project steering committee member, and members of the working group on August 14th, 2019.
The training was organized according to the following programme:
1. Project development objectives, project indicators; beneficiary agency participation and roles;
2. Contract management and other supporting documents for contract assessment;
3. Project report templates, tables, timelines, providing information, responsibilities;
4. World Bank procurement guidelines and policies;
5. Information regarding consultant’s Terms of Reference and its requirements; order of activity implementation, beneficiary agency’s responsibilities;
6. Work plan and procurement plan as approved by the project steering committee;
7. World Bank disbursement and financing procedures;
8. Training report requirements;
As a result of the training the Fiscal Council has come to a common understanding of World Bank guidelines, implementation procedures, development of a detailed procurement plan and accelerating the development process of the Terms of References of the consultants.
PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION UNIT
ORGANIZED A TRAINING AND DISCUSSION EVENT
On September 21, 2020, the Project Implementing Unit organized a training event and discussion to introduce the implementation proсess of the Work Plan for 2020, approved by the Project Steering Committee, and the recommendations and tasks given by the World Bank and the Ministry of Finance. The event was attended by coordinating consultants, members of the working group, and staff of the Project implementing unit.
VIRTUAL DISCUSSION ORGANIZED AMONG THE PROJECT STAKEHOLDERS
The Project Implementation Unit successfully organized a virtual discussion on neutralizing negative impacts of COVID-19 pandemic to the project activities on May 5th, 2020 requested by the World Bank. The event was chaired by Ms. Caroline Vaira, the WB TTL; and the key stakeholders including the WB Country Office staff, the PIU staff, and the coordinating consultants participated for virtual communication in real time.
THE WORK PLAN FOR 2020 WAS APPROVED BY THE PROJECT STEERING COMMITTEE
Strengthening Fiscal and Financial Stability Project's work plan for 2020 was approved by the Project Steering Committee on March 13, 2020.
PROJECT STAKEHOLDERS PARTICIPATED IN VIDEO CONFERENCE INITIATED BY WORLD BANK.
The video conference, initiated by the World Bank was held between the World Bank team and the management officials of beneficiaries, PIU staff, representatives from implementing agencies and coordinating consultants at the World Bank Ulaanbaatar office on January 16, 2020.
JOINT WORKSHOP ON PUBLIC FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT REFORM STRATEGY 2018-2020 HELD AT THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE
The joint workshop in the context of securing desired outcomes of Public Financial Management Reform Strategy 2018-2020 has been held on 21 October, 2019. This successful event was co-organized by the Ministry of Finance, Mongolia and the World Bank mission team. The aims of the workshop were to:

The Project Steering Committee has discussed and assessed the first 9 months' implementation of Strengthening Fiscal and Financial Stability Project. Consulted with the World Bank experts, the PSC has approved an updated work plan of 2019 on October 7, 2019.
