B.Khatanbuuvei, Officer, Financial Information Technology Division, Public Administration and Management Department

I think that the Ministry of Finance has made the most of the achievements of information technology in its functionality and is leading the e-transition ahead of other government agencies. Currently, the Ministry of Finance is responsible for more than 10 budget and financial information systems used throughout the country. Database security and integrity play a crucial role in ensuring the reliable and stable operation of these systems. As the information technology sector develops rapidly, professionals in this field need to continuously develop their knowledge and skills.

We are pleased that the Strengthening Fiscal and Financial Stability Project provides us with opportunities to learn from local consultants and organizations, learn from their experiences, receive support on technical issues, and participate in capacity-building training.

I attended a 14-day OCA-level training for Oracle Database Administrators and learned the latest Oracle 19-c database management content in a combination of theory and practice. Additionally, under the project, worked with experts and trainers from the consulting company to improve the system environment of the Ministry of Finance and solve problems, which made the training very effective.

In addition, database consulting and training activities such as database backup, automation, real-time duplication, centralized monitoring system installation, and database tuning have made our work easier, reducing system errors and interruptions. Significant improvements have been made to the end-user, such as reduced system load and faster-uninterrupted operation. For example, as part of our consulting services, we set up an Oracle DataGuard to replicate system databases in real-time, and using these replication databases in reporting systems, we have resolved the problem of overloading and crashing core systems during the financial reporting periods.
