Mongolia has become the 100th jurisdiction to join the BEPS Convention

Ganbat Jigjid, State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, signed the Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (the BEPS Convention), at a signing ceremony held in Paris at the 14th meeting of the Inclusive Framework on BEPS held from October 5th to 7th, 2022. Mongolia has become the 100th jurisdiction to join the BEPS Convention and represents an important milestone in the implementation of treaty-related BEPS measures and the strengthening of the global tax treaty network.

Mongolia was included in the FATF’s list of jurisdictions with strategic AML/CFT deficiencies or the so-called “Grey list” with only 6 action items in 2019. However, Mongolia was able to get off the “Grey List” in 2020 within 1 year with 37 out of 40 FATF Recommendations rated as compliant.

As part of the Strengthening Fiscal and Financial Stability project, a consulting team has been working to evaluate implementation of Mongolia's Vision 2050 (as approved by parliamentary decree), Decree on some measures to provide public services in digital, and Regulation on e-government services and information exchange procedures using the State Khur system. These are required to develop a Digital Transition Program; to expand e-services and accelerate e-transition.

Within the framework of the "Strengthening Fiscal and Financial Stability Project" implemented in cooperation with the World Bank, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Mongolia successfully organized the project introducing and installing the web-based internal monitoring and customer satisfaction survey system for all aimag and districts Social insurance, Social welfare, and Labor departments. 

THE PIU ORGANIZED A TRAINING ON DEVELOPING PROJECT COMPLETION REPORT

Introduced a new monitoring platform in the data center of the Ministry of Finance

As part of the project Strengthening Fiscal and Financial Stability, a new Data Center monitoring platform has been introduced to support and improve IT infrastructure and digital operations of the Ministry of Finance.
