The joint workshop in the context of securing desired outcomes of Public Financial Management Reform Strategy 2018-2020 has been held on 21 October, 2019. This successful event was co-organized by the Ministry of Finance, Mongolia and the World Bank mission team. The aims of the workshop were to:

The Project Steering Committee has discussed and assessed the first 9 months' implementation of Strengthening Fiscal and Financial Stability Project. Consulted with the World Bank experts, the PSC has approved an updated work plan of 2019 on October 7, 2019.

Project implementation unit organized training for coordinating consultants and working group members of the projects to intensify the work progress of SFFS and SGM projects and to prepare and assist to the upcoming World Bank project review expected in October at the Project Implementation Unit on September 25th, 2019.

The Fiscal Council of the Parliament is an implementing organization of Strengthening Governance in Mongolia project. Therefore, PIU organized training on project implementing procedures for management of implementing agency responsible for the component, project steering committee member,  and members of the working group on August 14th, 2019.

Mr. Khurelbaatar.Ch, Minister of Finance, signed a Grant agreement of Strengthening Governance in Mongolia Project, which aims to support the Government’s efforts to improve fiscal discipline, public financial management (PFM), and transparency and accountability processes for strengthened governance of public resource management in Mongolia, on April 30, 2019. The meeting of Steering Committee of the project  was held at the Ministry of Finance on August 2, 2019 and approved the project’s work plan for 2019-2020.

The Project implementation unit organized a training for coordinating consultants and working group members of the project for the purpose of ensuring the project mid-term implementation and strengthening capacity of coordinating consultants and working group members on May 1, 2019.

Ms. Alma Kanani, the World Bank Practice manager for East Asia Region, Ms. Carolina Vaira, Task Team leader for Strengthening Fiscal and Financial Stability Project, and the WB working group members visited the Project implementation unit and were introduced to the project implementation progress on March 19, 2019.

The One Stop Service Center of Social insurance division of Bayanzurkh district opened on 13 March, 2019 and an opportunity to improve quality and access of social insurance services for the citizens have become possible.
